I took the REG exam today… I feel numb. I have studied all nights after work and prepared so well, only to find some huge sims that are mentioned on my book in just one single sentence.
I did the best I could… and it took me the whole 3 hours allowed to complete the exam.
They are going to give out the scores before March 10 2014… and I think I am going to take some time now to relax until I will get my awful score so I know I will have to review REG again instead of moving on to my last exam, BEC.
Ciao…. 🙁

Hey all, brand new here so if I make some sort of faux pas at some point let me know.
Yeah, I took it yesterday. My sims were actually fine. What I found so frustrating with the test was that they skipped over 80% of the study material(I used Becker self-study) and focused almost exclusively on the minutiae of the 20%. Like super, SUPER specific questions that you better pray to god you remember catching in that one sentence in the book. Regardless, this was my first test. Does anyone, recommend waiting until March 10 for my score so I can dive back into REG if I failed? Is that recommended? I really don't want to waste time and was going to start up BEC in the next couple of days… I could see this test going either way. Maybe those tricky MCQ's were the experimental ones? Or maybe that's wishful thinking.
REG 2/26/14 - 90
BEC 4/08/14 - 92
FAR 5/31/14 - 90

AUD 7/09/14 -February 27, 2014 at 4:07 pm #556165F15hyMember@jopa16, never waste a second, those 18 months will fly by. You should always be studying for something, whether it be for your retake or your next exam. Start on BEC and plan to take it next. If you fail REG, then plan to take it after you take BEC. Just how I approached the exam, but I always was studying for something.

February 27, 2014 at 4:17 pm #556170AnonymousInactive@ourent I think I have told this story before but am not sure if you may have read about it. It was my fourth attempt at BEC. I had studied so freaking hard. The only thing I felt sure about after that exam was my launch code at the beginning of the exam. I was so frustrated during this exam I was literally slamming pencils and the computer mouse on the desk. After the exam was over, I got in my truck and drove like a mad woman to the mall for a little retail therapy. If it was my size and on sale it came off the rack. I remember getting to work on that Monday and telling my director that I probably made a “2” on that exam as I had the exact same question in two different testlets. To this day I am convinced there was a 73 point curve. I made a perfect 75.

Good Luck!!

February 27, 2014 at 5:25 pm #556169AnonymousInactive@candothis What a great story! And well told. I definitely know that “only feeling sure about the launch code” feeling.
@outrenthome Don't give up! I failed AUD the first time around, but I'd already scheduled BEC for about a month out. I felt pretty sure about AUD, so I started studying for BEC right away. Well, I found out I failed AUD.. (Worst feeling ever to feel good about an exam, then realize you failed.) Anyway, I continued studying for BEC and I even picked up motivation since I knew I needed to up the ante with my studying. I took BEC and passed. Then when I came back around to AUD, things were still pretty fresh in my mind. It was much easier to study the second time around, in fact. I already had a good starting place since I'd already been through the material.
Long story short: Don't be afraid to study for something else. You never know what will happen on score release day, and you don't want to waste a minute of time! The second time around studying will be easier than the first, if you do happen to fail REG.
My REG exam is officially scheduled for April 3rd! Let's do this!

May 9, 2014 at 9:37 pm #556171AnonymousInactiveMy Goodness. I just took REG for the first time 2 days ago (first section) and I truly do feel pretty terrible. Studied with Becker for 2.5 months (around 180+ hours) and was totally blindsided with the Simulations. I feel like I did pretty well in MCQ, but I got CRAZY sim's that I pretty much took blind guesses at. I sure hope the 2 research and other sim's went OK.
2 more weeks until my score is released, and I honestly don't know if I'll get a 50 or an 80, doesn't feel too good. Becker is great, but pay attention to the stuff you are only OK with, chances are you'll get a doozy or SIX for the sim's.
Anyone else feel like they blew the sim's and then passed? I know it won't help my score, but I'd like some feedback to caudle my broken soul! Thanks!

May 12, 2014 at 3:06 pm #556173AnonymousInactiveBenPitt – Yep. Of all the answer boxes for the REG sims, I'd be surprised if I filled 30% of them with the correct answers. Didn't feel too good about the MC either. Got a 75. This was 1st quarter 2014.
