I took the REG exam today… I feel numb. I have studied all nights after work and prepared so well, only to find some huge sims that are mentioned on my book in just one single sentence.

I did the best I could… and it took me the whole 3 hours allowed to complete the exam.

They are going to give out the scores before March 10 2014… and I think I am going to take some time now to relax until I will get my awful score so I know I will have to review REG again instead of moving on to my last exam, BEC.

    Ciao…. 🙁

When I took Reg, I had one SIM that was only mentioned on one line in the entire Beckers book. I had no idea how to do it and left most of it blank. I still passed with flying colors. Don't sweat it too much. Press on to your next section.

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88

@ I'm, Ron Burgundy – that's a great score! What did you do to increase the 17 points? I retake REG on Thursday and would be happy if I can increase my score by 3+ points. What did you do differently this time around? Were the SIMS completely different the second time around? I'm terrified of the SIMS I'm going to get on retake!

    AUD - 84 - 7/19/2013
    BEC - 75 - 8/29/2013
    FAR - 81 - 10/28/2013
    REG - 72 - Retake - 85! I'm DONE!!!

Yah I am taking REG next, so I can use some pointers to.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I kicked the crap out of that exam the first time I took it, I know I did. However, I was cheated, flat out. I scored “stronger” in every section except for SIMS. Therefore, the 74 was the result. I knew that I understood everything inside and out. But the SIMS just beat me. Why did they beat me? Not because I was under-prepared, oh no, they beat me because each one of them was total b.s. So, I got very angry at the AICPA, period.

So this is what I did:

I maintained the NINJA study format but this time I was more focused on my weaknesses (wouldn't you know they showed up the 2nd time) and made sure that no matter what they threw at me in the SIMS, I would either know it or be familiar enough to guess my way to a 75.

I woke up every day for one month at 4:45 am, drank a cup of coffee on my balcony and slowly woke up. When I came back into my kitchen, my books, laptop and countless legal pads were already set up waiting for me. This time of day was where I got the most focused studying (no distractions, no burn out from a day at the office, etc.). I hit the books. I would read for an hour either my notes or new material, then I'd jump into MCQ's or a SIM for one hour. I'd write some notes then get to work. I would study for one hour on my lunch break each day and then again for a couple hours at night. When I was confident in a good set of notes, I would type them out in an organized outline.

What I did differently this time: 10 days before my exam I began re-writing, BY HAND, every note that I wrote. Man was this tedious, painful and I absolutely hated doing it. However, all the little nuances that I had forgotten about had just been re-accessed in my brain and everything really came together.

Ultimately, NINJA method has worked for me on every test since I adopted it.

Don't lose hope! I had no doubt in my mind that I failed FAR. I was mentally preparing myself for a score in the 50's and praying that it was at least in the 60's. It turned out, I got a 79. I also was certain that I passed audit the first time I took it, and I got a 70. So, you really never have any idea how you did, even if you think you do.

    thx I'm, Ron Burgundy?

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:
