Hey 71’s out there. I had a weird REG exam experience. MY test went HARD-EASY-MED??? For my previous tests it went MED-HARD-HARD… Any of you have similar experiences like this??? Super weird I know. I’m pretty sure I got solid partial credit for 3 SIMS, and iffy on the remaining 3, including the ridiculously hard research question. But my question is any of you have this HARD, EASY, MEDIUM testlets?? I just couldn’t believe the first testlet. Long, wordy, and hard questions…not the way I like to start out…hmmmm….Thanks in advance for any good, helpful and funny comments 🙂

I think they throw hard questions in all sections, as well as, practice questions. I think the medium ones just have more medium questions and the hard ones have more hard question. It's probably best not to over analyze the test because of how unpredictable it is. I do the same thing, but really all we can do is wait and hope for the best.

When I took Reg last fall I had very discernibly different testlets where I could easily feel the difference between the easy test (my first one – I remember thinking as I worked through it, “I studied way too hard for this thing”) and then the next two testlets (choke, oh my goodness…).

Yesterday when I took the FAR, I expected to have easy on the first again, but my first question was a hard computational one! I really didn't feel a vast divide between the level of difficulty and am wondering if the AICPA is changing up their test strategy.

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88
    FAR - Feb 27, 2014: 86
    AUD - April 5, 2014: 91
    BEC - May 6, 2014: 83

    Florida CPA 24 July 2014
(Done in seven months - thank you Jesus!!)

As far as I know, the first testlet is always a medium testlet. According to the AICPA website.

I got easy, easy, hard on mine today.

You can't fret about it and it really may not mean anything.

On my BEC exam I got Medium, Hard, Easy. I passed with a 79…

    AUD- 97 1x
    REG- 81 1x
    BEC- 79 1x
    FAR- 88 1x

    DONE!

    10/1/12 to 2/28/14

bpk1 is correct. The first testlet is always medium.

There could be some weird pre-test questions in there that throw off it off so that it didn't seem medium.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I took Audit a few weeks ago. I felt my testlets got easier. I scored a 95. Don't worry about it.
