I am using Roger full course to study and Wiley test bank. So far, I have taken REG twice. The first time, I studied 170 hours for REG and was getting 80s and 90s on the practice exam using the Wiley test bank. When I took the actual exam, I felt like there was a ton of material that Roger only briefly mentioned and none of the info that was heavily discussed in either Roger or the Wiley test bank. I was completely surprised to find that I scored 71. I studied REG again for 60 hours and am now waiting for my re-test grade but I again don’t feel that great about receiving a passing score. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I using the wrong materials? I am now studying for FAR but haven’t gotten a supplemental test bank yet. I am leaning towards Ninja. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Follow the NINJA method as explained in the NINJA notes and I bet you pass. Plan on 20+ hours a week for 6 weeks.

Has anyone else followed the NINJA method and not passed?

That's rough. Most people normally score better.

It's entirely possible that you got hit with a sim that did you in. I just missed an exam that I should have gotten a 50 on because of a sim. I scored “weaker” on every category, but “stronger” on the sim. They really can make or break you.

Take a good look at your score report when you receive and see where you went wrong. I normally receive mine within a few business days of the online score.

I used Roger/Wiley for REG and thought it prepared me enough to get my 84. After I got through all of that information (as in, knew it backwards and forwards), I searched for some extra random stuff online to see a different perspective.

I feel the Wiley testbank is very relevant to the exam and even harder, your scores don't make sense. Are you understanding why every question you answer is wrong or right? Are you making sure you don't skip over difficult parts? I feel that the Topics I go over in the testbank end up as stronger scores from the evaluation, the only problem is getting through all the questions for me.

I think the key is you don't “think” you passed… I was sure the last time I took FAR I failed horribly… I received an 82. I think some of this is luck of the draw. I have been using Roger and the WTB also. I feel like his lectures are good, I also have NINJA audio and notes, I've used Wiley TB and I just did a bunch of those CPA Excel/UNA classes. I've scored primarily in the 70's (with the exception of my freak 82) on the actual exam and I've felt unsure every time. I've never left an exam feeling great.

For sure if you don't pass this time, I'd consider adding to your study products. I love the NINJA audio and notes because they are manageable to get through and have great nuggets of info.

REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.
