I’m in GA. I just realized that I missing 2 credits for sit up exam. I found out that Devry can go with becker.

They required to enroll in master degree to get academic credits for CPA prep courses.

Can I enroll to master and then take that 2 credit course and then withdraw from Devry? Is this doable? Can I transfer to Becker with other 3 remaining parts? Coz I want to save some money.

I took the Devry classes back in the day. However, had my employer not paid for the classes I would not have. Their classes are expensive. I would look into the cost first. I think they maybe charge almost $3,000 per Becker class. Its been a few years.

You do get credit for the Becker classes, however, it might actually be cheaper for you to just buy directly from Becker and take classes at a community college.

I am almost certain that you do not have to enroll in a masters program to take classes. My counselor said that the classes can be taken independently. You can call and talk to an admissions person at the school and they should be able to answer your question.

The only other benefit to doing Becker for credit is that it is quick. FAR is the longest course at 5 weeks, but I think it is the only 3 unit class. BEC is only 3 weeks.

I called Devry and confirmed twice that you will only gain credits on CPA prep course unless you enroll in Master degree.
The cost of Becker is $3400 around, There are 9 credits at Devry for these 4 Becker prep courses @$590 per credit including textbooks and materials.
But I only want to take 1 of 2 credits class and then start with Becker separately. I don't if this plan can work or not…

Take a class through LSU's distance learning program, 3 credits done in a matter of 8 weeks (I think that is the minimum amount of time you can complete the course in). It doesn't have to be a masters class if you all you need are the credits. You could potentially do the same at DeVry – just make it clear you are a not a full time student there and just need the class for a state board requirement. I forget what they call it (Non-Matriculating I think). You won't need to “drop out” so to speak because of this.

Prices are reasonable at LSU and acceptance is relatively quick. Just don't take a potential repeat class or else it won't count towards the 150 credits. Also, this goes without saying but check with your state board to see if they even accept CPA review courses as credit, I know some do not.
