I hear people say this all the time about FAR, but not so much with REG. I had this feeling with FAR last month, but ended up with an 82. Exam experience was similar in that I performed very well on the first testlet, and then the rest of the test was a nightmare. I even got the research question wrong. I ran out of time working on the last Sim! So bummed right now.

I took Reg 10/02/13 and came out thinking that I failed. I agonized that I had screwed it up for a month, and convinced myself that I had failed.

Then I got my score, and made an 88. So keep your chin up, all is not lost.

If you walk out feeling like you failed I wouldn't feel too bad, that would mean you most likely had some difficult testlets which would bode well for you. I walked out of my last 2 exams feeling pretty good – got a 71 and a 73 – probably had medium testlets, and in case you didn't know, medium testlets on the CPA exam usually mean failure.

    B -
    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

Yep – I thought my SIMS were COMPLETELY ridiculous, and was convinced I had failed. Several times during the exam, I *literally* thought to myself the words, “I really, truly may have lost the will to live.” But I passed! As jsblamer said, hopefully it means that you did well enough to get some difficult testlets and did just fine. πŸ™‚

    FAR - 89
    REG - 81
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 80 - Annnnnd SCENE.

When I walked out after my 4th REG attempt I thought “I bombed this…I'll just have to retake it in the next window”…several weeks later, to my surprise and relief, I got my highest score of 82!!!

As others have saiid, when you think you failed, you usually pass. Good luck! :).

Thanks everyone for their responses. Today has been a very hard day. I was totally dedicated to passing this section and being done with the exam, but my assumption is that I failed and will lose my AUD credit. Which means a trip down memory lane and re-visiting AUD. I will pass this exam. I can't get over the fact that I blew the research question today. those are free points lost…find it hard to believe I'll receive a passing score after that. Thanks again!
