kpbMemberAfter spending 3 months full time studying for FAR, REG seems like a breeze to me. Then again, I am just starting R4 so I can't “really” say if it is really easier than FAR, but one thing I know for sure: these chapters and questions are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY simpler than FAR!!!
I remember being terribly horrified by F2-F7 & F10 of FAR…. and crying, many many times. Homework was also NOT a piece of cake either. I seriously think I got traumatized after FAR….so that's why in my opinion, REG seems a breeze right now, JUST VERY VERY time consuming to do the hw and reading the book.
BEC - 81 4/08/14
FAR - 80 8/25/14 Thank you Jesus!
REG - 69 (Nov 14),80 1/08/15 Thank God!
AUD - 70 (May 14), xx 5/1/15Becker Online & Becker Flashcards
I definitely wish I was one of those people who got all 4 exams done in 4 months, but unfortunately LIFE (being a newlywed, stress, adjusting to newlywed life and cpa exam study life, as well as starting a job with a Big4 which I am very happy about) got in the way, just happy that I am passing period!!I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

MamabearMemberIt's all relative to your strengths, your experience, and your class history if you recently graduated. I have never done my own taxes, didn't know anything about exemptions and deductions and hated blaw in school. FAR encompasses so many more classes that you were probably exposed to. Intermediate I, II, III, advanced accounting, etc and if you work in corporate accounting you've probably dealt with a majority of those JEs and understand the financials. If you work in tax then you hopefully understand tax better. No one can say what is hardest for anyone but themselves.

powerpuff_bubblesMemberFAR is bulky..So much more to learn and memorize than REG. With FAR, what you see in your review course is what you get on exam day. No major surprises. You just have to know your material in and out.
Reg on the other hand is just something else..The examiners must be smoking something really strong up top Mt Everest wearing nothing but vests when coming up with questions! Lol!
What you find on the review course is totally different from the exam. The simulations are the real shocker. You know the material but you have no idea how to apply it because you have no idea which question is asking for what! With all my 2 Reg sittings, funny how the 1st testlet builds your confidence and the minute you get to the second testlet, its all downhill. The exam rips you apart!

How many letters do you needParticipantMama: yeah I'm so pleasantly surprised. Currently wrapping up an online course in tax (needed a couple more for licensure here) before I dump all that stuff and try to fill it up with AUD. I know you were kind of bummed about your REG score but keep at it. I want to see both of us finish this bad boy up and enjoy the holidays with no studying and our licensure paperwork in the mail!!
MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?

zoctomanMemberVote goes to far for hardest. I view it mostly by the time it takes to prepare. My far test seemed easier, but I spent 6 weeks studying full time. Reg I spent 3 weeks full time and got a higher score. The way I see it, I would have for sure failed far with 3 weeks to prepare and with 6 weeks for reg may have gotten a 95
Audit(11/5/13) - 89

AnonymousInactiveAny advice for someone currently studying? What would you suggest would be the most important to memorize? There's a different number for every credit/deduction!
