My REG MCQs were weird and retarded - Page 2

MCQs were from topics that my review course did not concentrate on and pretty much ignored by me. SIMS were ok. Research question was #5 and I assumed that question # 6 will also be research since they always come last. Wasted 30 minutes on the stupid research #5 and with only 10 minutes left, I was shocked to find out that question # 6 required a lot of time. I was so upset at myself for not managing my time that i lost my concentration. Overall I am very disappointed. I really studied hard and I did not want to study REG again.

Please no exam experience thread responses.

    CashMoney10, I didn't realize that the pre-test % is that high. Maybe I still have a chance.

DanceMan06, relax man and move on.

Its all about being in the club. If everything was so straight fwd we would all be cpas. I enjoy a little struggle. What I find annoying is the small amount of MC. Only 60 for Reg and Bec? Cmoon now.

    FAR-76
    AUD-75
    REG-8/30
    BEC-10/2

    USED THE BEST...BECKER

I don't understand why anyone would follow the ‘what sticks, sticks' thing that Becker professors tell you. They don't know if it's going to be on your test or not, they only know the general probability based on past exams. I study everything like it's going to be in an MCQ. Don't rely on someone else to tell you what to study and what not to study. If you are studying with Becker, the book is not that long and it's already extremely condensed, so it probably WILL be on the exam. It should be read in its entirety at least three to four times in my opinion.

    BEC: (4/2012) 88
    AUD: (5/2012) 91
    REG: (8/2012) 82
    FAR: (1/2013) 78 🙂

Keely, I agree with you, but the concept of ‘what sticks, sticks' worked for me so far. May final score on FAR, AUD and BEC was in line with my average score doing the Becker materials. If history is any guide, my REG score should be between 79 and 85%. I just came out of the test feeling like 67% is the max. I can get. If I fail REG the ‘what sticks, sticks' consept will be dead for me going forward.

    AUD: 81
    BEC: 82
    REG: 78

I agree with Keely…..going through highlighting what Becker thinks will be on the exam is crazy. Having taken REG twice in two months, neither exam was like the other…..and I probably failed both. I want everything I need to know to pass so that I leave no chances….that's like people studying for a 75 or skipping a section hoping that it will not be covered.

I'm not lying when I say that I read and took notes on every word of both CPAExcel and Wiley. I did Wiley's test bank (the entire 1,000+ questions three times. I did CPAExcel's test bank twice. And I still was like ‘what the heck' when it came to my exams.

They can bite me at the AICPA.

REG was odd…they didn't hit the main topics a lot, but there were only a few questions that I felt totally unprepared for.

    We'll see. I probably did around 2000 mcqs b/t Wiley and CPA4FREE.

    REG 8/31/12 Passed: 80
    FAR 1/10/13 Passed: 82
    BEC 4/4/13 Passed: 77
    AUD 5/28/13 Failed: 71 WTF?????
    AUD 7/11/13 Passed: 81
    ETHICS Passed: 93

    DONE!!!!!

Honestly, I got real lucky when I passed REG. On my last REG attempt, I hit so many questions where I like, “Oh I know this” because it was such a petty little detail to remember and so, it was in the back of my head. So, I had to think really hard and just go with my good gut instinct. I got lucky and got most of those questions correct. I know I was lucky because I remembered some of the questions when I got home from the exam and was surprised to see that I ended up picking the right answers.

    @danceman,

I think what mycpa as saying in his first post about the “no exam experience thread posts” was that he didn't want people to just post “use the exam experience thread that is already created and stickied”.

He wasn't saying that he didn't want others to share their experiences. At least thats how I viewed it.

    FAR: 87
    AUD: 86
    BEC: 86
    REG: 84! Officially Done!
