Hey all, just took Reg and I want someone’s opinion who has also taken it:

Multiple choice was harder than expected (mcq’s are usually my strong suit). Maybe flagged 10 questions in the first teslet that could go either way. It was hard to tell if the second teslet got more difficult, but it definitely didn’t get easier, there were perhaps 12 that could go either way. Teslet 3 sims were hard but I held my own, same for teslet 4. Lastly, teslet 5 I got 2 easy sims completely wrong (1 of them being the research).

Does anyone have any predictions, and I want only honest opinions. If you think I just came up short, then give it to me straight.

If you got the research question wrong it will be hard to pass but you never know.

It's possible you fail but really hard to tell. What are your thoughts on the SIMs? Im taking reg in a week and really nervous about the SIMS. I've heard its skimming through actual tax returns and knowing how to understand it all. Passed FAR with an 89 just failed AUD with a 74. Really need to pass REG

6/8 sims I picked up some points, some more than others, but were not completely blank on any of them (besides 2, one being the research). I thought the sims were ok, what you would expect.

Not sure why people think research questions are more important than anything else, unless research questions weigh more points than other SIMs? Anyways, it's really hard to tell pass or fail until you get it back. 100% of people think they failed and half of them ended up passing. Maybe not 100% but you get the point. So don't over analyse, just move on to next section.

    Shoot for the stars!

Not saying the research question is worth any more than any other SIM but the research question should be thought of as guaranteed points. Each SIM is worth like 7% so it can make or break passing unless you killed it otherwise.

I remember thinking the REG research questions were notably harder than the other exams.

My opinion? Relax. I always left thinking there were a lot of MCQ that could go either way. You don't know how you did, because you don't know what counted, what didn't, or how much it counted. No one can tell you anything meaningful based on what you said. The only exam I left CERTAIN I'd passed was audit.

I'm wondering the percent chance the research will be the one that is a pretest…probably pretty low. I mean it was one sentence long and extremely vague.

I just took Reg this afternoon as well. Here were my thoughts while taking the exam:
Testlet 1: OMG, this is easy. Maybe it gets more difficult in the 2nd testlet? I'll pass this exam.
Testlet 2: Hummm…this is not that difficult. I think I can pass this.
Testlet 3 (includes 1 research question): Left 1 question blank. By blank, I put “0” in all answers hopefully to get half a point somewhere. I think I'll fail.
    Testlet 4: Okay, I think I'll pass.
Testlet 5: At 1st glance, the 3 questions seem easy. I was sure I got the concepts but once I started doing it, I became unsure.
Final thought, I think my passing-failing chance is 60-50.
    Finger cross!!!
