HI everyone,

I am proud to say that I found out I passed my fourth and final exam today. My scores are as follows: FAR-92, REG-92, BEC-91, AUD-99. I have a cumulative score 93.5. I am happy to finally be done.

My question is this…is there such a thing as passing with “high distinction”? I know I have not scored high enough to reach the National Watt Sells Award (avg. over 95.5), but I have seen many older CPA profiles (old as in tested when the exam was only given twice a year and around 1982) that say the person achieved the “Elijah Watt Sells Award for Performance with High Distinction”. Apparently this used to mean the top 120 scores per testing session. Is this an old honor? Does any distinction beyond the Watt Sells award exist?

I also tested in Massachusetts, does anyone know if my scores could possibly be high enough for any state specific recognition if Mass even has that?

Nope… unless you get the 95.6+ average nobody cares if you got straight 75s or 90+ on all the exams. Passing the CPA is passing the CPA.

I'm in MA and I've never heard of such a thing, but congratulations on your scores! Very impressive!
