Hi,

I have been working in public accounting since 1/1/2013 and passed the CPA exam/received my certificate as of July 2013. As far as I know correctly, I can apply for the license if I have one year of public accounting work experience…(It’s 1/2/2014 so I guess I’m qualified?) There are several licensure methods per the application and I don’t know which one is applicable to me. Should I choose “Acceptance of Examination” then fill out the application accordingly? Has anyone gone through this process in IL? Any idea how long it takes to actually get the license in mail? Any tips are appreciated in advance! Thank you so much!

Yep, it's the Acceptance of Examination that you have to submit. I know it also includes the verification of employment/experience (VE-PAE form) that, when I completed it, someone in HR was able to take care of that for me. As for your year of experience, yeah you are set with that as the lady who helped me out with it just said to wait until your 1 year anniversary date before sending it in. Sent my application in early October and received my license sometime I believe like mid-November maybe so like 5-6 weeks.
