Its not that you need to come up with plain vanilla interests, you want to have some interests listed that your interviewer can relate to or at least care to talk about. I mean, roller coasters, or amusement parks? How about Amusement Park Enthusiast? Shit you could only have been to one amusement park, but “Amusement Park Enthusiast” is something that sounds interesting, you could talk 15 seconds about your favorite amusement park and lead into how much you love their roller coasters–the hook sounds better.
For video games, console or PC? Ever build your own gaming PC? Or have a console preference? “Design, Build and Play Gaming PCs” or “X-Box Enthusiast” (ok we already used enthusiast, but you get the idea), or even list a specific game “Multi-player Call of Duty”
…and yes, something plain vanilla–know your audience, a seasoned partner probably doesnt have a lot in common with you and likely doesnt give two shits about CoD, but he/she probably travels, probably eats interesting foods. At least have a thing or two on there where if they decide to use your interests lists, there is SOMETHING they can relate to AND you can talk about. Certainly you've been somewhere interesting at least once, so if you put Travel, and they ask, be ready with a fun travel story.
