Finally, my one year and a half suffering time is paid off!! I got my license today from MA board!! YAY!!

I really appreciate everyone’s help in A71–all encouraging words, all the helpful test tips and all the great advices on my career!

I got my first AICPA magazine yesterday, if that makes me cool (or nerdy)! As soon as I was official, I dropped a sad amount of money and joined the Gerogia Society of CPAs and the AICPA. Funny thing is my husband is also part of both so now we are getting TWO Journals of Accountancy mags to the house each month. HOUSE OF EXCESSIVE BORING MAGAZINES!!

@neika, I emailed the Board a few days after I mailed my application and it replied just a few short days later saying it received my application. After the Board's reply it only took about two weeks to get my letter saying I was a CPA. Hang tight, you're almost there!

@neika822–haha, you know, when I check my bank account, I always hate to see that some one cash my check…but to be honest, when I found out my check request was cashed by MA board, I felt so happy and relief….Thank goodness, they open my envelope….

I submitted by application to the Arizona Board of Accountancy on December 19th. They cashed my check on the 30th but I am still not on the list to be reviewed by the certification board. No sure if I should wait or start stirring the pot, any thoughts?

@jadams84–hey there, since I am from MA, I cannot give you some confirmed timeline. But it is no harm to give the board a quick call regarding your concerns. In MA, the board issue licenses when they are having board meetings. So every month, there are only certain days that they will issue the licenses for the candidates whose applications have been reviewed before the meetings.

So maybe you can check the website of your board to find out more details regarding licensing schedules. But I strongly suggest that you may ring them tomorrow since today is holiday…

I heard from the State of Arizona last week. They are recommending my application to the certificating board on February 27th. If that goes good then I may be certified by the 19th of March. That is a long wait considering I submitted my application on the 18th of December.

So, if my application was received on January 13th, the next Board Meeting was on the 17th, I probably just missed it. The next one isn't until March?? Is this for real, or am I looking at the wrong Board Meetings, haha. That stinks! I don't want to wait until March 🙁
