Finally, my one year and a half suffering time is paid off!! I got my license today from MA board!! YAY!!

I really appreciate everyone’s help in A71–all encouraging words, all the helpful test tips and all the great advices on my career!

Question for the MA residents:

Google has one address for Mass Board but the application/website have another. I'm going to mail my application to what the application says, but my reference letters all have the google address (Causeway St) (although, they'll be with the application, so they won't be going to those addresses.) Is it worth having my references change the address/resign the letters?

And to double-check, have you sent it to the Washington Street address?

@neika, I called the MA Board a few weeks ago to ask if it was ok to include my character letters in un-addressed, un-stamped envelopes since they are supposed to be sent along with all of the other application materials. The Board told me that that was fine. So I don't think you have to worry about having the “wrong” address on the envelopes if you're sending them in a larger envelope with all of your other application materials. I sent my application to the Washington St. address and then I followed up with an e-mail asking if it was received. I received a reply that it was received a few days later. I hope this helps. That's kind of been my mind set too, @neika. It would be great to have this whole process finished, but at the same time I'm not in a terrible rush. If something is wrong or missing, the Board will let me know…or if too much time goes by, I guess I'll give them another call. Good luck with everything!

I just found this thread…so thought I'd join…I mailed in my application to the KY board mid-December and haven't heard anything since. I'm debating whether to call/email the board or hang tight. The check that I sent with it for payment hasn't cleared my bank yet, so I'm guessing it hasn't been processed… *sigh* When I applied to sit for the exams, it took a couple months for them to process that application (and that check), so I'm guessing that it will be the same with this. However, that doesn't mean that I don't check the KY CPA license verification every day just in case I know up. 😉 I've pretty well memorized the names on the first page of people with my last name! (My first name is spelled funny, so I look it up by last name only just so that I don't miss it if they put me up there but spell my name wrong. 😉 )

Lilla, I can't speak for KY, but I sent in my application just before Christmas, and on Jan. 2, my check had been withdrawn from my bank account. I'm in MA. Seems to be a bit of a discrepancy between our two states.

Yeah…KY isn't the most up-to-date. 😉 haha. I love it here, but life moves slower here, and the CPA board joins right in! I think tomorrow is a month from when I mailed it, so if I haven't heard by the end of the week, I'll probably check in with them just to see what the process is. I don't want to be pushy, but I'm antsy!!
