Finally, my one year and a half suffering time is paid off!! I got my license today from MA board!! YAY!!

I really appreciate everyone’s help in A71–all encouraging words, all the helpful test tips and all the great advices on my career!

Hey quick question –

I received my final passing score on 2/25/2014, and I've just been waiting for the congratulations letter in the mail. Do I have to wait for that? Can I just print out the full application, put everything together, and mail it in before receiving the letter? Thanks!

@michaelabs22, I didn't get my congratulatory letter for about a month after my final passing score (from NASBA).

General Timeline for me (Georgia candidate)

Final passing score received: 12/6/13

Submitted all my paperwork for licensure: 12/12/13

via Email: documents were received: 12/23/13

Congratulatory Letter received: 1/5/14 (dated 12/30/13)

via Email: application passed initial stage: 1/7/14

via Email: application passed quality assurance: 1/9/14

via Email: application transmitted to Board of Accountancy: 1/10/14

via Email: application received by Board of Accountancy: 1/13/14

…

via Email: CPA license issued!!: 2/18/14

I'm sure each state is different once they receive the documents from NASBA, but overall, it took about 2 whole months to process and issue my license.

Seems frustrating, but if you read their meeting minutes (yes, i'm that desperate to find out lol) they're actually talking over quite a bit on the distinction between upper DIVISION and upper LEVEL. Upper/lower division just used to be a line between 200 level and 300 level classes, but I guess they know see that a 200 level class may be an upper LEVEL class, and a 300 level class may be lower level, despite being upper division.

It's official: MintsRCPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My license finally posted on my State board's website and I will have my hard copy in the mail this week!!!!

Aside from immediate family, close friends and of course A71, I did not make it public knowledge that I passed all parts back in February. I just didn't want to have to say, “Thanks but I'm not a CPA yet, I have to wait for the State to issue a license, please don't tell anyone I'm a CPA yet because I'm not, it's not cool to do that, blah/blah/blah, but thanks anyways!” 100 times. Now, I can to enthusiastically post/tweet/IG/scream to the world that I'm a licensed CPA!!!!!!!!!!!!
