Hey All!!
Congrats to all that passed also this quarter on here. This forum has been an incredible resource for me both in terms of study tips and inspiration to never give up on this awful exam. So,to inspire others currently studying and struggling like others on here did, here is my story…
I was very excited to finally be done with my undergraduate degree in Accounting. Days before graduation, I ended up with an awful concussion that took me the entire summer before working to recover from. Once I got clearance, I immediately began studying. I started to work and sat for AUD and BEC. To my disappointment, I failed both 🙁
I kept pushing, survived my first tax busy season working many weeks almost 100 hours and after major deadlines passed, forced myself to find time to study. I would wake up, study in the morning for an hour, study at lunch and then study late at night. Eventually, I passed AUD in the spring. I continued this strategy and later in summer passed BEC also. I then proceeded to sit for FAR. I kept getting busy at work, got a brutal exam and just guessed towards the end. Ended up with my worst score to date (in the 40s :/)
I backtracked and studied for REG. I was unbelievably busy with crazy hours again but couldn’t stop due to the timer. I bought an espresso machine, and started to wake up at 4:30 am to study before work despite staying in the office often until midnight. I ended up in the hospital for another unrelated health issue. However, I passed REG and moved on.
Finally, I took FAR once more in the spring continuing the 4:30am espresso schedule. I failed once again and for the same health issue, ended up in the hospital once again. Never gave up and kept on pushing. Finally, after crazy stress and health issues in the way as an obstacle for many sections I sat for, I passed FAR and finished my CPA journey this month.
NEVER GIVE UP. You can do this! Just believe in yourself, study hard and give it your all.
