i have the same question.

i am working on the ethics exam right now and will check CA board to see what i should do next.

i heard if you meet all requirements, you can go ahead send in you application immediately, but i would check with state board to make sure.

I think it changes depending the state, but what you can expect for sure is more waiting. I got my last score on may 22 and havent receive it yet.

@ Jade: I am from Puerto Rico. I wrote to NASBA on June 6 and my state coordinator said that they will forward my congratulatory letter in the next few days

If you guys haven't yet, go to NASBA, Licensure, Nasba Licensure and check if your state is there, I found some helpful information there for my state.

how are you doing with ethics exam? i did my first try yesterday and got 73. the problem is after reviewing the questions, i have no idea which questions i got wrong. thus, i dont know how to improve my score. just curious how you are doing with it and if you pass, could you share with me some tips? thanks,

@Jade CPA-to-be and hmesalguero- I am also in CA and just waiting on my license.

My advice for the Ethics exam is just read every question carefully. One word can change the whole answer and when I went through my last review before submitting my answers I found questions that I had gotten wrong because I missed a word. Also make sure you are getting the answer from the right chapter. If it says the CPA is in CA then you should get the answer from the Chapter on CA, etc.

Also as far as the application process you just have to get the forms online. Get your boss to fill out work experience, you need to get a picture taken and attach that to the main form, and get finger printed and fill out a criminal conviction form. But check online to make sure I'm not missing any forms. I think I sent my application in sometime in April and I got a postcard that they received it and its been about a month since I got the postcard. I called yesterday and I should be getting a letter this week telling me if I need to send them anything else and if not I guess it will just say that its in the review process. Its definitely a bit of a wait once you send everything in.

onmyway82, Congrats!!!! i heard that CA process takes about 2 months. you are almost there.

thanks for your advice for ethics exam. i will read them carefully before answering. i have 3 attempts total. LOL

as to experience form, do you know if my boss send it directly to board OR i include in my application packet with other materials? thanks,

@Jade- I had my boss sign off on it awhile ago since I was leaving that company so I sent it with everything else. But I think the form says that your manager should send it, but I called the board and asked if it was alright that I was including it with my other forms and she said it was fine, as long as they can see that the signatures are original. oh.. for live scan thing, does that take a while or you just go to the site and be done like 30 minutes?

The one I found was really quick, but there was no one in front of me when I got there. They just scan your hand and then every finger and it gets sent right away. I just did it on my lunch break. And I got the picture taken at the same place, its just a passport picture that you need.
