    Seems like you're from NY like myself because I received my letter today as well. The sad thing is that I won't be licensed for at least another year and a half because I'm not currently working in the field (though I looking and planning to do a MaCC this fall).

    Thanks allyson. It's just annoying. I reached out to my ex employer few months ago and he said “No problem”…now he's back peddling and doesn't seem to want to do it. I wanted to avoid going to the CFO of my co, but I guess that's my only choice now. I didn't want them knowing I passed yet so I can make a quick and discrete exit. This whole work experience verification process creates so much awkward positions for me.

    I was actually quite surprised with the quick turnaround too. My letter was also in that batch mailed last week. Now the fun begins…..

    @Herbieherb, sorry to hear about the sign-off problem. He really shouldn't be giving you any problems. Just about any accounting experience including bookkeeping could be signed-off. Now I wonder if there is an issue with his active status/license. Did he say why he doesn't want to sign off? I sent out the 4b form last week to my ex-employer and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    I also received my congratulatory letter last week. I actually received 3: one from NASBA, one from the State Department and one from my state society (its compulsory to be a member here). I already got my CPA seal stamp made and will go to San Juan this Thursday to register as a CPA : D . The CPA ceremony in which I will receive my certificate is next Friday! This happened so fast, I'm very sad now that is over : ( Now more adrenaline rush waiting for scores. Oh well, I will stay on the forums and share what I can with the future members.

    @dhuff Thx

    @gina…ya hes just paranoid about something…wants to make sure everything is legal and do his own research first. I sent him an email outlining my work exp in categories C,E,F, and G with all the links to the nys ed % lic website, and was like dude you can put 100% book keeping if you want…LOL

    @Herbert how does work exp work in PR? Your employers sign all your stuff already so.fast?? After all my stuff is verified I just get a license in mail,

    @herbieherb – Puerto Rico doesn't have experience requirements, so after you pass, you will become a CPA pretty soon after (we got the150 hour requirement, though). The reason we don't have the exp. requirement is because PR doesn't have many CPAs and that requirement would make it harder to increase the number of CPAs here. The CPA ceremony is formal event in which all new CPAs have to swear an oath to this profession and the code of ethics. I will take photos if i can : D

    I know many people will read this and think about transferring the scores to PR to put those 3 letters behind the name but they counter it by only allowing Puerto Rico residents to be licensed here or residents from other States that do business in Puerto Rico.

    @HerbieHerb, are we suppose to receive some kind of congratulatory letter from our state and/or NASBA after we have passed all sections of the exam? I received my score notification, but have yet to receive a letter from NASBA or CO saying ‘congrats, you have passed the CPA exam'. I figured I wouldn't get anything until I fulfilled my experience requirement. Maybe I should call my state board?

    It came from nasba, the same envelope as the score ones. It said on behalf of the nys education dept Congrats blah blah and it listed all the parts with date and score and another page had a link to the nys education dept…mine came much earlier than I anticipated…I was thinking may 15 or so. It's probably based on ur state. You also need to send copy to aicpa if u wanna join as associate member

    On the Nasba website, it says the congrats letters are mailed out May 15 for the first quarter-at least for NH.

    Says the same by all the Nasba states, actually. Hopefully, the others will come earlier, too.

    I actually received my congratulatory letter the same day I asked this question. I was expecting it to say something about when the scores will expire since I haven't fulfilled the experience requirement yet and therefore not eligible for licensing.

    I received my congratulatory letter from NASBA, but didn't yet receive my invitation to apply from the State of MN. That's fine by me, as I'm waiting on my AICPA ethics exam to arrive and I won't have a transcript for my final college credits until mid-May (dang that 150 hour rule!).
