Yaeger for Audit?

Has anyone on here had success with Yaeger for Audit? I used it for BEC and loved it, but just can’t get into audit. I find myself getting angry when an entire hour “lecture” was spent doing MCQs and another 45 minutes for TBS.

I could have just done Gleim or the Wiley book myself a lot cheaper. Does it get any better? I bailed during M.2 Pt. 2 and skipped M.2 Pt.3 (because of the above complaint.)

If it’s like that most of the course, can someone suggest a better option?

    Thanks.

Wow you are exact-ally in my shoes, I took and passed BEC with Yeager 2/28 Now I am studying for AUD and DYING of the dulls. I feel the same way and hoping Mr Dull has some magic teaching technique, in the way he covers MCQs, that secretly teaches me why I am not watching I am doomed. When Mr Dull does make a good point or give out a good test taking clue I don't feel like he emphasizes it enough to draw attention to it, so I REALLY have to listen differently.

I loved Yaeger for BEC and REG but, I regret using Yaeger for Audit and feel stuck as I am almost done. I feel strongly that I should be supplementing it with something else but I am not sure what.

Guys, I posted an article a few months back saying the exact same things you both expressed. All I can say is keep going. Gary is dull and hard to follow at first but if you keep going things will start to come together and you'll start to get it. Gary is very good at emphasizing key things you will need to know.

I agree with you haze….I failed AUD my first time using Yaeger but it was NOT b/c the material wasn't sufficient, it was my own studying techniques and not being fully committed, plus it was my first exam ever and I had no clue what to expect. I am re-taking it tomorrow and have used Yaeger with just briefly looking at the becker flashcards and this time around everything clicked. Gary is not the most enthusiastic teacher, but I think he does a good job emphasizing what you need to know. IMO, his going over the MC and SIMS helped me to learn the concepts b/c he explains each answer, but everyone is different. Good Luck!!

I used Yaeger and passed Audit on the first try. Gary is can be dull but just stick with his lecture. More importantly, do the wiley test bank MCQ(multiple times). I spend the last two week of my study to do all the MCQ on the wiley dvd and rewrite ALL the standard reports over and over again. Also, use cparevewforfree.com to test yourself.

It seemed to get better in module 3. I guess I was just mad spending my lunch hour listening to him rattle off MCQs the whole time. I don't fault him for being dull, nor would I necessarily say he is. Audit is rather dry. He's starting to grow on me.

i guess i'm in the opposite situation, i switched to yaeger and passed AUD in Q1 2011(used becker before). i like his lectures and took crazy notes on everything he said

now i'm studying for BEC and don't feel as confident. i luv the way cindy explains the mcq but i also feel like she reads a lot from the book

    anyone else feel the same?

I used Yaeger for BEC and past the first time, you are in good hands, Yaeger (Cindy) is all I used. I am trying to listen “better” to Gary in AUD, as the alternative is not passing and having to study for it twice ( eeekkk ).

To me, Cindy was clear about what to read, what problems to work and what not to work. With Gary ( AUD) he just starts talking and does not seem to communicate any clear expectations of what he expects you to read and which problems to work ( I assume all ) and he is dry- dry- dry. But agreed, if you can get past the dry I think he makes good points. I will have to get past it as I am not buying another class.

I'm not sure why people are complaining when instructors read from the book. Gary, Yaeger and Cindy teaching styles are read form the book, explain the information, and walk you through the MCQs. I think this old school style of teaching is really good.
