Greetings!

So I was working as an auditor at a small firm for exactly 5 months. I was laid off due to the fact the firm had no work for me. I was studying at work for 3 weeks. I read somewhere that they’re not required to sign off my experience. But I’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts. What is the likelihood that they will sign off on my experience despite how I ended my experience there?

Please share. I know, I still have 3 beasts to worry about this. But it’s still nagging me.

I mean… I'm not trying to belittle your question, but it seems kind of silly. Just go and ask them. The worst that is going to happen is that they would tell you no and you're back where you started. It's mostly just going to depend on the individual that you worked under and whether or not they want to put in the additional effort.

Most will, they get how hard you're working for this license and don't want to stand in your way. They're not “required” to (in most states, I think in a few you can sue if they refuse without good reason) but especially if you were let go for lack of work and not poor performance I can't see why they wouldn't.

I agree with MLA, you were working at a CPA firm so the individual that is going to be signing off on your experience is a CPA as well so they know what you went through to pass the tests. They aren't going to restrict you from getting your license after all the work you've done.
