To all my fellow CPA candidates or CPAs, I want to complete 2-3 sections within the next 6 months. With that, I am trying to balance which ones to take first or define an order.

My goal is take a relatively hard section balanced with a less difficult section initally? Then, shift to complete the others.

Which sections would you start with?

Which sections do you think are harder and/or a little less difficult?

Any help you can provide, please do so.

rsh1922. Coming from my expierence, I found REG and AUD to be the least challenging (disregard the two failing scores for REG in my signature, I was using Gleim CPA review, which I hated). BEC was considerably more difficult than advertised, in my opinion. I also believe FAR is more difficult than BEC. I would start with FAR or BEC (most people will say FAR) to get one of those out of the way, then throw an easy one under your belt (AUD is mostly memorization). Get those both passed then move the Phase II, BEC and REG.

I found AUD and BEC to be the easiest for me. I think it depends on your strengths and weaknesses. For me, I can memorize backwards and forwards with ease. BEC and AUD is filled with memorization…so I chose to take BEC first (I knew this would be the easiest for me…I figured it would either boost my confidence or make me run away crying), and AUD last (so that I would feel confident that it was over once I finished the exam). I took REG second, because I thought it would be most difficult, and FAR third. This worked out great for me. So…I'd say ask yourself where are your strengths and take that one first to boost your confidence. Failure on the first test can be devistating.

I found that whatever section I was currently studying for was the "hardest" section.

I think REG and FAR are the most difficult. Although, BEC is fricking tricky!!! So, I'd combine one of REG/FAR with one of BEC/AUD. It worked for me…so far…..I took REG w/BEC and planning on taking the other two next month.

I also took a similar approach where I took a difficult one first, then an easy one, and repeat. For me, the hardest were FAR and AUD since I'm in tax, so I took FAR->BEC->AUD->REG. It ended up working for me, but it could be a personal preference.
