I took FAR in August and failed with a 68. When I got the results, I already had Reg and Audit planned for October and November, so I scheduled my FAR retake in January.

I was using Becker and it clearly didn’t work so I made the switch to Yaeger. When I ordered the materials in October, I read they would be shipped in late November so that would be enough time to study (I took all of December off work to do so) for FAR in mid-January. But the materials have not shipped yet and I’m not sure when they will arrive. Does anyone have any advice for what I can do to try to prepare for FAR before the materials arrive? Should I go through my old Becker materials? Watch lectures, take notes? Review my old notes? I’m just not sure where to begin without a program to go through and don’t want to waste time that could be spent studying. Thanks in advance!

Definitely go over Becker materials. Memorize all the journal entries and formulas. You just gotta know that stuff by heart, there's not much you can do about it. Good luck.

I'm in the same boat with FAR. I failed with Becker and am waiting for the Yaeger 2011 materials. I'm planning on going over my FAR notes I took using Becker and restudying the journal entries. Make due with what you have in the mean time and try not to slack off with the excuse that you are waiting for the 2011 materials. 🙂

Do ALL of the FAR questions in “CPA Review for Free.” Use your Becker book as a reference.

Yaeger is worth the wait. After failing FAR with Becker and Gleim, I passed FAR with Yaeger.

I'm also waiting on Yaeger. I was told originally they'd ship late Nov. I emailed Sonny from Yaeger, who responded the materials will ship by 12/12. I scheduled my exam based on Yaeger's original ship date. Poor planning on Yaeger's part.

I realize I'm not the norm in this thread, but I ordered my Becker update materials for 2011 about two weeks ago. When I ordered them, it was noted that they wouldn't ship until 11/22. I received them on Monday. My guess is all of you would be getting yours soon!
