    Hello,

    Can anyone shed some light on how we take this course? I plan to call the VABOA tomorrow to ask but is this something I can take instead of waiting for them to tel me to go take it?

    Also, is it online or must it be live? I have looked at the VABOA’s website for info and it is all over the place, nothing very direct. I went to the websits of all the sponsors/providers and cold not find anything about an online delivery of the course. The VSCPA has it as a live seminar for March 16th. I am hoping I can take it online somehow and as soon as possible, without the time constraints of live classes.

    Any piece of information will be appreciated.

    @payaza2000
    The VA Ethics is an annual requirement, the only exception is at the early state when you are applying for initial license. Welcome aboard!!!

    ok so based on makiu's response, all you need to do is the AICPA ethics course. i'm going to contact VA BOA.

    @ ipasscpa: Yes, thanks to Makiu's explanation I went through with my application and i think my license would have been issued except that I need 4 credits. lol. I am going to have my Advanced level results evaluated and each of the subjects is about 8 credits. I was sitting on a credit mine but didn't know it. My fault for not being more thorough.

    Anyway, you only need the VA specific ethics exam if you passed the last exam in the previous year. Scroll up to the link Makiu posted to the VABOA explaining the requirements. That tells you all you need to know about the ethics exam requirement.

    @ hokinizeu: I hope you passed the ethics exam with a 90+ when you tried it again? I spent about 4 hours when I took it and passed with a 97. I went from question to study materials instead of the other way round – that is, read the question then find the answer. I wasn't going to read the whole thing!

    @kemi22 lol, that was a smart way to do the exam. yes i did pass it on the 3rd try (without knowing that was my last allowed attempt! i am thankful i passed it). i sort of did a hybrid version of yours b/c my exam kept timing out so didn't have much time to research.
