Does anyone know about how long it takes the Virginia BOA to approve your license? I just finished the last 12 hours I needed and they should have my transcript within a week. 2 years of this and I’m so ready to finally be a CPA.

If it makes any difference, I applied for my license last year after finishing the exams so I wouldn’t have to get CPE before being approved. They have everything else except for my final transcript.

Feels great to finally be completely done and not have this hanging over my head!!!!! Although I don’t know what I’m going to do with all this free time!

I sent in all my documents to VA BOA on a Thursday, and the following Friday (so 8 days later), I was issued a license number. (Note, I had the 150 hours when I was approved by VA BOA to sit for the exam, and did not have to re-supply my transcripts). It might take more time in your case since you need your college to mail your ‘certified' transcripts to the Board.

Thanks so much, Lisa! I wasn't sure if I'd be waiting days, weeks or even months so this gives me a good frame of reference. The VBOA seems to be pretty efficient so the quick turnaround time doesn't surprise me. Thanks again and Congrats to you, too 🙂
