Does anyone know how long it generally takes to become certified in Texas (license card in hand) after passing the exams? I received my final passing score on Tuesday, August 4th, then the TSBPA sent me my packet with all of the instructions and required forms to fill out on Saturday, August 8th (which I thought was pretty fast). I sent everything back to them by August 18th (work experience forms, oath of office, ethics course certificate, Application for Issuance, a check for the application, etc.). It wasn’t until August 28th, after several attempts to contact them that they responded and I finally received through email my Code of Professional Conduct Exam. I finished the exam and submitted it to them the next morning. I waited 3 or 4 days after that before I contacted them. I still have not heard back from them in regards to my Code of Professional Conduct Exam grade or the processing of my application.
The reason I’m concerned is that everything has to be in to the TSBPA by September 14th in order to be in the December swearing-in ceremony (or to be able to receive it in the mail in December). Otherwise, you have to wait until the following May to be in the ceremony and receive the actual certificate. That’s why I’ve been rushing to get everything in to them as quickly as possible. I do want to add that when the board has responded, they’ve been very helpful. During the last several months they just haven’t been as responsive as they’ve been in the past.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Does it normally take the board this long to process everything?
Thank you in advance for your response!
