TX CPA application question

So, I passed my final section and am in the process of gathering all required info. I have my work experience form and job description, I’ve filled out the application of issuance, I’ve taken the ethics course and have certificate of completion, and I am scheduled to get fingerprinted. Am I correct in assuming that I should submit all documentation (application, work experience, job description, oath of office, and ethics certificate of completion) and IdentoGO will submit my fingerprints/background check directly to the TSBPA with no additional effort on my part?

I did my fingerprints with the Letter of Intent and yes IdentGO submitted the results directly to the Board. So, you should be good.

Did you get fingerprinted before you filled out the application to sit for the exams? If so, you don't need to do it again in TX. They already have your fingerprints on file.

Yes Chandler, I did mine before I sat for the exams and you are 100% right, per the instructions on the Application of Issuance, I don't have to get fingerprinted again 🙂

I am now just anxiously waiting for the Board to send me the link for the Code of Professional Conduct exam. I wonder how long they will take. I sent the paperwork on 06/25/19.

    Caritus,
When I sent in mine to the state board. It took them 9 days to email me with receipt of my fee & paperwork. The exam showed up within 2 days, and I was licensed within 4 days of taking the exam. All in all, about you should probably expect about two weeks from the time you mailed. Once you complete the ethics exam, they process licenses once a week so it will just vary on where you land in that cycle.

    Chandler,
Oh well, I just gotta wait 🙂
    Thank you for the info!

Hi I also passed all 4 exams, but I'm confused with the licensing portion in TX:

Do I have to take a 4-hr ethics course AND then take an online ethics test?

Or is the 4-hr ethics course a requirement AFTER i become licensed which is required every other year?

The 4-hour ethics course is a requirement. You will send proof that you took the course with the Application of Issuance of the CPA Certificate. Once the board recieves that, they will evaluate and make sure you met all requirements. Then, the board will send you a link via email for you to take the Code of Professional Conduct exam.
