I went in having to move my test up 3 weeks because of scheduling problems…so I basically I went in feeling really good about chapters 1-3, not so good about 4, and ok with 5 (I used Becker)

The first teslet was pretty easy, I flew through it in about 40 mins..I doubt I missed more than 4 or 5 questions at most. I know I did pretty well because the 2nd teslet was MUCH MUCH harder (I hear you get a harder teslet if you do well, easier if you don’t). I spent about an hour and ten minutues on it. Definitely didn’t feel too good about it. I probably missed around 10 questions. Maybe more. The 3rd teslet was easier, but not as easy as the first. I probably missed 6-8.

I felt pretty good at that point because I thought that if I did pretty well on the sims I would pass. But then I got the sims and was dissapointed…they were crazy tough. I know I bombed them.

So all in all it looks like I’ll be retaking AUD. Oh well. I know I didn’t study enough…I feel like I can definitely improve my scores next test window. I’m gonna go ahead and study for FAR from now until July…and then probably retake AUD in August.

Felt terrible walking out of BEC and got a 86. Felt great about AUD MC and kind of shaky on the Sims, and got a 94. Ive been told by people they had to talk themselves out of walking out of the exam numerous times and cried in their car when they got to the parking lot, and end up passing. It really is a crap shoot. Worst feeling not knowing how u did and having to wait so long

    BEC - 86
    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89

I came out of FAR (old format) with tears streaming down my face, and I passed. Just barely – but passing is passing!

    FAR: 71, 77
    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

Thanks for the positive encouragement. Fortunately I won't be too dissapointed if I don't pass since my 18 month window hasn't started yet. I will do my best to stay positive and keep a good attitude during my FAR studies. I desperately want to be a CPA by 2012.

Sounds like you did good. I am taking it this weekend and am using Becker. Kind of nervous as I have never done any auditing before. Hell, I didnt even know what a compilation or review was. How was your timing?

I hear most people leave with hours to spare.

ks99 – I took AUD today and left with 1 hr to spare and that was me going thru each of the SIMS a second / third time. I feel ok about the exam. I had plenty of time to take advantage of the auth literature during the SIMS. I couldn't tell much of a difference in difficulty level thru the MCQ's but I couldn't with the pass three I have taking and passed. So I hope that is a good sign. If you are using Becker, I think they did a great job, I actually had about 5 of the exact same MCQ's from Becker on my exam.

Good luck to you and everyone else testing!

    AUD (11) & FAR (10) = 89
    BEC (10) & REG (11) = 78

    MI-CPA,

Thanks, as that was my interest. When i took Reg I used the Auth Lit tab a little but ran out of time. I bet with Audit I can use it for hours. The audit codes are way easier to read than the tax code also. Did you find the simulation answers easy to find in Authoritative Literature?

KS99- they were extremely easy to find. Out of the 7 the answers for 4 were clear as ccould be.

    BEC (10) & REG (11) = 78

Ks99 – I have severe dry eye and I had to take a break after each testlet to step outside and put in prescription eyedrops (I have to use them all the time it's terrible). So i probably spent somewhere around 20-25 minutes in breaks. I ended up getting out of there just as time expire. I felt I had exactly as much time as needed. Of course I've always been a slow test taker. I'm a little worried about having enough time for FAR when it comes.

I finished with more than an hour to spare and that was after double checking all my answers for every testlet. I used the standards for a couple of the sims; I was pretty sure what the right answers were, but I wanted to make sure I was right. It was pretty easy to find what I needed in the research material–definitely easier than REG and far clearer in explanation.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I did the practice SIMs in the Wiley book and on the Wiley test bank which helped some. Doing lots of MCQ also helped because it helped me learn the material more thoroughly. I found the AUD sims to be the easiest of all the exams, but I may have just gotten an easier test than average.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I agree with kb24, I did all the Becker practice SIMS and probably close to 2k MCQ. MCQ can be turned into SIMS is what I experienced on my actual exam. It seemed like they coul put 8-10 MC on one SIM tab and have you select from the “pop” up box the correct answer. Get comfortable with using the Authoritative Literature tab, it help tremendously! I think AUD sims were by far the easiest, next was FAR (since I work with that type of stuff everyday) and hardest was the REG SIMS.

    AUD (11) & FAR (10) = 89
    BEC (10) & REG (11) = 78

Retook Audit on Monday. Confident with the MCQ but not 100% sure about the SIMS. I found them to be difficult. I took Reg and FARE under the old format last year and those SIMS comprised of 20% of your grade. I felt poorly about the SIMS coming out of those exams but I passed. For this year, Audit SIMS are 40% so its more crucial to do a good job on the SIMS. Also, Audit doesn't have the writing anymore which was pretty much free points if you can write. So my advice: do MCQ over and over and practice SIMS over and over. The MCQ are often repeated.
