I’m starting to think that the TNBOA has decided that since I’m accustomed to waiting on test scores, that must mean I’m totally comfortable with the idea of waiting on my initial licensure packet. Here’s a brief recap of what I’ve done since I passed during the first window of ’11.

Passed the ethics exam during the first week of April.

Called the TNBOA 2 times in order to inquire about the whereabouts of my licensure packet.

Emailed the TNBOA a copy of my work experience affidavit.

Results of my efforts – nada… so friends, here’s my question to you. What is the longest anyone has ever had to wait in order to receive their licensure packet?

UPDATE!

I received my letter and application for my license in the mail yesterday! I filled it out this morning and sent it in! Hopefully I will be officially licensed in a few more weeks! At the bottom of the application it has an area for the CPA you have or are working for, to fill out your experience. I have already printed out & sent in the experience application online so hopefully this will speed up the process.

Congrats CPA2010TN!!! Yahoooooooo for you! I sent in my experience about a week and a half ago. I wonder how long that process takes? I hope you will be receiving your certificate soon. Can't wait to be in your shoes……..

Well, my check for my license cleared today…Hopefully this means that I am closer to being approved! At least I know they have received my application!

Just did a search on the TN State Board of Accountancy website for CPAs and my name came up!

It has license # but a status as Application in Process! YAY!

Congrats CPA2010TN! I contacted the board today on the status of my work affidavit. She emailed back something to the effect of….what is this for? OIY!

Do you get a separate notice when they accept your work experience?

No, I have just received two letters. One stating they have received all my passing test scores & one that said they have received notice that i have passed all tests (including the ethics test) and the application (with a place to fill out work experience at the bottom) enclosed with the 2nd letter. I haven't received anything else.

Update: Just checked my application status again on the TN Board of Accountany website. (I check this under License Search) It no longer has a status of Application in Process/Unapproved Applicant. It now states ACTIVE-FULLY LICENSE!!!! I received my membership certificate from the TSCPA Saturday, but still have not received my actual certificate or anything else from the TN State Board. Again, just for a timeline, I took my last test on July 2nd, and received my score on September 17th.

Received a letter yesterday from the TN State Board of Accountancy stating that my application has been approved!!!!!! It also provided me with my License #!! The letter also stated that in a few months I would receive my wall certificate!!

(A few MONTHS?!?!) But at least it is official!!!!!

Update: TN received my packet on Tuesday. They processed it Thursday and I can now goto the TN website and see my application status. It says application in process/unapproved applicant. Hopefully I will get fully approved soon!
