I had an interview yesterday with 7 interviewers. They consisted of HR, partners and senior associates. All at different times. Do I need to send individual thank you notes that are all different or is it that bad if I send one note?

Good Luck on getting the job! I would send a personalized thank you to each of your interviewers. I've gotten thank you letters from folks i've interviewed with just to find out the other interviewers recieved the same verbatim letter. Those folks typically don't get the job in my Big 4 Firm.

I had a situation while interviewing with only two and had no idea myself on what to do in the form of a thank you letter. I ended up meeting with the direct reporting manager and her boss, so I ended up sending one note to the direct manager while mentioning both people.

I do not know if there is a standard solution for your situation, but my suggestion would be to definately send a letter to the parnters as a whole while generally mentioning the senior associates.

I would probably also send a generic one to HR just to cover you in case, but I would think the partners and tying in some positive observations about the associates might go a long way.

Not sure if that was of any help, but maybe some of it is applicable for you.

    Good luck on your opportunity!

I had a very similiar interview experience where I saw several people in one day, if you remember everyone's name, then I would send individual thank you letters. If you cant remember everyone's, then you want to just send one maybe to the partner and mention the others in a general way.

Thanks everyone. I just ended up e-mailing individual e-mails to each person. They called me like a hour after I did that with an offer!

I'd send thank you's to EVERYONE! I made a point of it when I was interviewing to get business cards from everyone I spoke to and made notes after the interview about what I discussed with each person. Then I wrote thank you letters to everyone making sure that each letter was different – you know that they'd all get together and compare them.

    With today's economy – I'd over-send thank you letters rather than under-send. 🙂

Congrats! I hope the position works out for you!
