States with lenient work experience rules?!?!?!?

I live in NJ and passed the exams in April. For two years I worked at a nonprofit in an accounting and finance position. I worked under a person with an expired CPA and a chartered accountant from UK.

I want to apply to be an FBI Special Agent and would be qualified under Accounting Entry Program if I’ve been certified as a CPA. I just started working at a public accounting firm and would like to apply to FBI as soon as I can. What states would I be able to be certified as a CPA?

Do you have a masters degree? In MA, you can get a non reporting license with a graduate level degree.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Yup! Thanks for info. How quick is MA at processing? I'm wondering if I can make the upcoming applicant window that ends march 15.

If mar 15 is the date of the next board meeting they need everything in hand by Mar 2 ( ten business days, if memory serves). Then it's quick, I think I was approved last year on Mar 10 and had my license less than a week later. Good luck!

I guess I should expect to miss this FBI applicant window.. Not sure why I didn't think of another state earlier.

Colorado you can get a license with master degree in place of experience. Whole process took 3 – 4 weeks for me.

can you share where you see this application? I don't see anything on USAjobs

    thanks!

I like how for Mass I don't need to do the ethics exam, but Colorado has the NASBA licensing which might be quicker.

Is the ethics course/exam easy to finish in a day?

Yes the ethics exam can be finished well within a day.

Do you have any idea how often FBI recruitment occurs? I don't yet qualify (work experience) but would like to apply when I do

I don't think I realized I needed 3 years of the work experience as a general requirement even with a CPA. Damn it! They usually take applications several times a year I believe.

Not sure if this applies to you awkward, but I discovered if you have a graduate degree you only need 2 years of work experience.

I am applying in MA, given I pass FAR next week. I have 162 credits with an undergraduate degree. I called the board in MA and they told me I can t have my Work experience in private under a CPA evaluated until I pass exams and apply.

I could t even get from them what format I need for this letter. What if they deny my application?,

@mla, do you have any advice on letter format &content?

Sorry I'm not sure which format exactly needs to be used. You may be able to google some results. Or start a new thread with a title like “Need format for letter (MA) from CPA to verify experieince” then elaborate inside the post so that you're not buried in this one 🙂
