    I am in CA region.

    1. There is an online and text format under CalCPA website. If I choose online format, do I get a PDF file? or, do I have to get on the internet every time I want to study?

    2. Does Becker have any study materials for ethics section? Or any released sample questions?

    3. How many hours(avg) needed to study for the ethics exams. Or, how many hours you have spent?

    4. If I fail 3 times, do I have to wait a period to retake the ethics exam again?

    5. Any study strategy for ethics exam?

    1. You get the PDF file and you can use it as an open book during the exam (which is unlimited timing I believe).

    2. Doubt Becker would have any Ethics material specifically for CA, you can get a discount if you are a member at CalCPA though.

    3. My cousin took 2 days of studying to prepare for the exam. It's over 300 pages, so technically you can do it in a day or you can just look for the answers while taking the test. It is up to you.

    4. I believe if you fail all 3 times, you would just pay another fee to retake it, which is fine if you want to throw money away.

    5. From what I read, every time you answer a question, keep a note of what page # where you found the answer so you can review the questions if by any chance you fail.

    Frankly, if you passed all sections of the CPA exam, the ethics portion should be the least of your concerns.

    REG = 58 (02-20-13), 75 (05-01-13)
    AUD = 67 (05-29-13), 79 (08-29-13)
    BEC = 83 (07-31-13)
    FAR = 72 (10-29-13), 69 (02-27-14), 73 (04-16-14), 81(08-13-14)

    Study Materials = Becker 2013 + Wiley Online Test Bank
    (75%) On my Way to a CPA (minus the experience requirement)!

    Thank you so much for the detail reply.

    I am actually thinking when to take the ethics exam because I am still fulfilling the working experience. Should I take the ethics exam after I get the working experience sign-off, or should I do it now.

    If you are still in study mode, then you should do it now to get it over with. Once you pass the ethics exam, you have a two year window period to get that experience signed off, get all the paperwork together, and submit it for your license. Otherwise your ethics score will expire and you will have to retake it after that window period.

    If you have a job already or expect to find one within the next 4+ months, then take it now. If you happen to take more than a year to find a job, then you should take the ethics exam once you secure that job.
