@monikernc
Thanks monikernc. This was 15 years in the making since 2008.
After so many years of low paying retail jobs from 2010 to 2016 and having to deal with incompetent and lazy supervisors, managers and associates, this was greatest end result for me.
Looking back, at one point I had almost resigned to sticking with working on retail for the rest of my life. It was just being fed up and motivation from a friend of mine that got be back into it and studying for the CPA exams.
All that hard paid off. I get to work from home and get paid for it. No more living from pay check to pay check and living on a shoe string budget. I managed to replenish my savings and build back my retirement accounts. Every year of experience can open new doors of opportunities.
All I can say is that if I hadn't done what I have done and including the help of friends, family, and members of A71, I wouldn't be posting this today.
A71 and you guys were a real big motivation for me. Reading about A71 members passing their last exams just provided more modification each day. Especially when hearing member finally getting those 3 letters and either getting a raise or promotion or even getting a better job.
Best of all is that it is a great time to be an accountant now. Unlike other industries, there have never been such a great need for accountants. I'm hearing from recruiters and hiring managers these days that they are having such a difficult time filling positions and roles.
At the same time too, I'm also telling my story to up and coming students who are studying to become accountants because it provides them with motivation to pursue that major and the number of opportunities that can open up.
