My Score Report exam date 02/28/11

    Score: 72 Result: FAIL

    Framework and Standards (17-23%): Stronger

    Financial Statement Accounts (27-33%): Stronger

    Specific Transactions/Events (27-33%): Stronger

    Governmental (8-12%): Comparable

    Not-For-Profit (8-12%): Stronger

    Multiple Choice (60%) Stronger

    Simulations (40%) Weaker

I knew I was in trouble when the simulations looked like they where written in a foreign language, and I did not get a chance to finish 3 of the 7.

Seems like in 2010 you would've passed with the diff weights. My question to you is f5… what possessed you to take REG and FAR in the same window?

I'm with you on the SIM – took AUDIT 4/2 and was well prepared for the MCQ's but the SIMS had the same stuff on multiple tabs and most of it was worded lousy and hard to understand what they were looking for. My guess is I failed as well…….. it's like a gamble and has nothing to do with how well you prepare and all with what test you get. Kinda like poker – you could be an awesome player but if you get a lousy hand – what can you do?

    REG - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    AUD - 2-25-12 PASSED - DONE !!!!!!!! WOOHOO

Don't lose hope. I took audit first quarter 2011, and felt good about maybe 1 or 2 of the simulations. The other simulations were worded extremely poorly-never mind that I didn't know what the questions were asking. Even if I did, the answers were ambiguous , too. And I passed! So there's hope.

Thanks for the postive note. I was the 3rd attempt to pass…I really need to have a glimps of hope.

For those of you just tuning in, or returning, I wanted to post an update. For the second time around I ordered Jeff's Ninja Notes, re-watched all of the Becker Lectures, and waited until I was finished with the lectures before trying any questions. I then proceeded to practice all of the “long form” examples in the Becker book by whiting out the answers and then trying to complete the problem on my own. I also mixed in some MCQs in order to keep the subject matter fresh in my mind. After this second review (about 4-6 weeks) I passed FAR.

These score reports are terrible. I once got a 73 in FAR and was weaker in all areas. I don't think these are accurate, to be honest. They just seem so messed up!

I think the score report breakdown by topic only pertains to the M/C. There is no way you can be stronger in 4 of 5 topics and weaker in the SIMs. My score report was weaker in all, except I was comparable in Gov't and I scored one less point than F5?!?! However my SIMs were comparable and M/C was weaker.

Honestly, in order to know if a 7X is close we would need to see a score distribution breakdown. For example, 2500 of 10000 people received at 72. If 80% of the people who failed fall within 70 – 74 a score in the 70's isn't close. However, it does keep you taking the test and paying the fees. Your almost there, right? Wrong, study EVERYTHING again, act like you have never taken the exam. It's a ploy to give you some confidence so you will study less. It's like a lottery ticket where you need four of the same symbol to win and you seem to get 3 of the 4 every time you buy a ticket. The truth is you really aren't that close.

The score reports aren't worth the paper they are printed on…

@dem80 I strongly disagree, I think the explanation is pretty simple–I think had “F5 to Refresh” finished the 3 problems he said he didn't finish, even just putting random jibberish in there instead of leaving it blank, I think he would have passed. I bet one of the ones he finished was the pretest question that gets thrown out (I believe there is one in the sims), so then that's really only 50% he finished.

NEVER leave the sims unfinished – ever.

    Starting fresh in 2010 w/Becker!
    BEC: 74,80 (expired), 78 - FAR: 64, 60, 74, 68, 76 - REG: 70,60,75 - AUD: 74,78
Can't change the past but I CAN make the future.
    DONE - 6/8/13. After 6 LONG YEARS.
