Just curious if members on this site think the professional ethics CD is overpriced? I was charged 181.00 after tax and shipping. I think that’s just ridiculous..

And yes, getting licensed is the nickle-and-dimed-athon, Oh done with the exam, here, buy ethics! Done with that, time to pony up $70 for finger prints (Livescan), got that, nice, how about $250 for an application… Oooooh application is good, but if you want an actual license that will be another $120. haha Thankfully my employer paid for everything, so I got to laugh at the absurdity without it actually costing me anything 😀

I just took the ethics test administered by the AICPA. Didn't spend any time with the videos.

Opened up the study guide located in the pdfs folder.

Opened up the exam pdf located in the pdfs folder.

Went through the questions looking up the answers and wrote them down on a piece of paper.

Logged into the the online test site

Entered the answers

Printed out the certificate of completion.

Whole process took me about 2 hours. (half of that time I was fiddling around with spotify playlists)

If you're stressing about this stage of the examination process, please don't. It was ridiculously easy.

I'll have to do some searching on the AICPA website for it… did a quick search yesterday and couldn't find it… there was a ton of CPE courses so I was confused about if it was a CPE course or if it was something I was suppose to just go there to take the test. @evesocal – I found your comment so funny, so I sent it to my husband who responded with:

What’s the fuss? Because it’s a third cousin you can do the audit so long as the sister is not living in the same house as the partner. You can do the audit in a different state so long as you have met the competency requirement of that particular state, unless the nephew and the third cousin have copulated in that particular state, in which case you would need a disclaimer in an easily identifiable location within the audit report. If it’s raining you must make a good faith effort to not get the report wet.

Is there any confirmation that the state board received our ethics score? I'm an IL candidate and I printed out my certificate but I never heard anything else. I took it months ago. Probably @peetree might be the only one to know for IL.

It says it was submitted electronically to the state boards but I didn't receive a notification. I'll probably call them tomorrow to make sure of the process/if they received mine.

They're probably still trying to unpack their new office.

Edit: I just tried calling the board but they're only open till 5:00. I'll try them again in the morning.
