Just curious if members on this site think the professional ethics CD is overpriced? I was charged 181.00 after tax and shipping. I think that’s just ridiculous..

Yup, I got it from the AICPA website.

One has to go through so much to become a licensed CPA….

What CD? In California we don't get one. We could download the 300 pages of materials as a pdf or maybe order it to be mailed to us (don't quite remember) but I don't remember a CD being offered. And yes, whatever it cost was far too much and the exam itself was nuts, IMO.

“If the partner's brother-in-law's third cousin's sister is having an affair with your client's bookkeeper's nephew, can you do still do an audit? What about a review? Suppose the firm is in a different state? Or the nephew owns 100 shares of stock in a company run by the partner's wife? Or it's raining? Haha, what about THAT?”

50 long involved questions, all like that.

The rest of us who have to take it get a 40 question test released by the AICPA. Its not that hard but does require some reading.

@evesocal, LOL! So true, and only funny because its in my rear view

And yes, getting licensed is the nickle-and-dimed-athon, Oh done with the exam, here, buy ethics! Done with that, time to pony up $70 for finger prints (Livescan), got that, nice, how about $250 for an application… Oooooh application is good, but if you want an actual license that will be another $120. haha Thankfully my employer paid for everything, so I got to laugh at the absurdity without it actually costing me anything 😀
