I’ve passed all 4 sections of CPA exam and am currently working as an auditor in public accounting. Since I didn’t study accounting in college and only studied for the exam for about 8-9 months untill I passed it, my fundamental accounting base is kind of week. So, I was thinking about starting from the very beginning and brushing up my accounting knowledge. If you have any books or publishers that can meet my needs, please let me know.

    Thanks!

Fundamental Accounting Principles by Wild and Larson is an excellent introductory accounting textbook (financial and managerial accounting)

Accounting Principles (Kieso, Weygandt, Warfield) is very thorough and published by Wiley (they make a good CPA test prep) so it has to be one of the better ones.

When you say you didn't study accounting in college, do you mean it was not your major or that you've had NO accounting classes?

    What state are you in?

I second the Kieso, Weygandt and Warfield book by Wiley. That was what my university's accounting program used, and it was an excellent text for basic accounting.

    AUD - 92
    FAR - 73, 82
    REG - 72, 82
    BEC - 84 DONE!!!!!! 🙂

Thank you so much for the responses, guys.

    Yaegermeister,

To answer your questions, I didn't major accounting during college. Since college, I had worked non-accounting jobs for a number of years and I decided later to study accounting and changed my career. I took some of the accounting classes that were required for me to sit for the exam at an accounting institute. The classes were designed only for CPA exam preparers and I was supposed to digest huge volumn of studying for a short period of time since I wasn't working back then. I'm in southern CA.

I'm sure you can get it elsewhere say, amazon or half.
