I am studying for my CPA exam right now and ready to take REG early next month. I took BEC last month already. I am currently working at a public accounting firm in New York. Because of the 150-hours rule(I have 130 hours now), I applied to sit for the New Hampshire CPA instead of New York. Initially, I thought upon completion of the exams and obtaining New Hampshire CPA, I could easily transfer my scores back to New York by taking some additional courses to meet the 150-hours rule. However, today I was told that in order for the scores to be transferrable from a 120-hours state to a 150-hours state, I MUST have 150-hours at the time of the exam. So, right now, my concerns are:

    n

    1. Is that the only way to transfer my scores or are there any other options? And, do I need to retake the exam if I can’t transfer my scores?

    n

    2. If I keep my New Hampshire CPA, then according to the mobility law (if I interpret it correctly), could I practice outside of New Hampshire, i.e.: New York. And if I could, under what circumstances? In public or in private firms?

    Thank you! Help needed!!!n

You will probably get the most reliable answers to your questions by contacting both New York and New Hampshire State Boards directly.
