I was smiling in mine and was approved – it may vary by state but that was my experience.

Mine looked like a mugshot since it was a picture for a license to do something not so fun. If it were for a license to get free beer and skittles, however, I would have smiled.

Just realized this is for license application, not to test. Oops.

Ha – I just caught that too – thought this was for the exam application. Oops.

I thought the picture was going on the license too but it's not. It must be so the notary can confirm it's you that's signing the application. Actually the license is really cheap looking, at least I expected it to be laminated.

@RedSoxFan77 I saw my first and only actual CPA license and it looks SUPER cheap looking and yep, not laminated. His coworkers laminated it for him. How ridiculous! It looks fake and not professional at all. At least make it plastic or something with all the money they have.
