Passing REG with 2010 Becker?

I passed BEC last August and have to get back on the study train to finish my last three sections by Feb 23, 2011. I plan on sitting for REG next.

I have the Becker 2010 version for REG. I imagine the contract law part hasn’t changed much, but what do any of you think about using this version for the tax part? Has anyone else done this? Perhaps supplement some additional tax questions?

I’d really like to avoid buying new study materials…

    BEC - 77 (exp. 2/23/12)
    REG - 75
    AUD - 10/12/11
    FAR - 11/30/11

A problem with REG is that most of the 2011 study materials were printed before the end of the year when a lot of tax laws were passed. I used a combination of the 2011 Becker (text and problems but no video) and 2010 Wiley text and the current Wiley test bank. Becker had online updates for some items, but there were plenty that hadn't been updated. I frequently checked the IRS site to verify what the current law was when I was confused on a particular point. And if this weren't enough, the REG CSO has been revised effective 7/1/11. I know you don't want to buy anything new, but you might want to consider the Ninja notes. They won't have the detail of Becker, but they are updated through the latest CSO. They're not that expensive.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I used 2009 material and passed REG. My score was not that great, but I saved $1000 by not purchasing a course. Just make sure you focus on sims since they are 40%

    AUD 79 Q4 2010 - NY
    BEC 84 Q4 2010
    REG 79 Q1 2011
    FAR 86 Q2 2011 - Done
