    Hello future and current CPAs,

As the title suggests, I passed the CPA exam. I now need to apply for my CPA license but I still haven’t completed my education or work experience requirements. I will have all completed all 150 education credit hours needed by December 2014 and have completed one year of work experience by December 2015.

So my question to all of you is when should I apply for my license? I called the State Board of Accountancy(Florida) and they told me that an application only stays valid for one year and that my CPA passing scores expire after 3 years (September 2017 for me). Should I wait till everything is complete(January 2016) or should I open my application briefly before my requirements at complete (~July 2015)?

Sorry if this seems trivial but I heard so many horror stories about applications that don’t get through on time and candidates have CPA scores expire. I worked to hard for my scores to expire!

    Thanks for your time!

    AUD - 93
    REG - 96
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 90

    Done!

If you have 45 hours of Accounting classes, then you don't need any experience to get licensed in Colorado.

You could get licensed now, but the rules change in 2015.

To me it seems like a bad idea to send in an incomplete application (they may be annoyed and consider it frivolous), so you should probably wait until you have both your experience and education, and then send it in right away when those are done.

    Great scores, btw!

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Send it all in after you have your supervising CPA sign off on experience during Dec 2015. No need to do anything before that.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.
