    Hi all,

I passed the CPA in NJ with about 130 credits 2 years ago and I just moved to Texas recently. From what I’ve read, the scores won’t count in Texas because I didn’t meet their 150 hour requirement before I sat for the first exam. Would I be able to get the experience requirement in TX and once I have the 150 credits then apply in NJ? would NJ accept that I earned my 1 year in another state? Also, would I then be able to transfer the license to Texas? Insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure on the NJ bits, but once you have your CPA from NJ you can do reciprocity with Texas. You'll have to do a background check, be in good standing, proof of CPE classes, take Texas Ethics, and a Texas Rules of Professional Conduct exam (Open Book).

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
