    Hello,

I passed the CPA Exam through Delaware state in 2009. I didn’t need the License at that time and applied for the Certificate instead. Now I am trying to get the license and I am asked to take the Ethics exam again, which is fair but I wanted to check if the 120 hours requirement gets grandfathered in or if I need to do 150 hours.

    Please HELP!!!

You'll need to check the DE state board website.
120 hour degree is grandfathered in NY as long as you applied by August 1st 2009, when the new 150 rule went into effect.

I can't seem to find any 120 grandfather rules on the DE website.
    I did find this text…

6.2.4 Evidence in a form satisfactory to the Board that the applicant has completed at least 150 semester hours of college education including a Baccalaureate Degree or a higher degree or met the educational requirements of a state that was deemed to be substantially equivalent as of January 1, 2009 and in which the applicant was a CPA examination candidate and passed said exam. The total educational program shall include a concentration in accounting.

My assumption is that you are fine with 120 hours, but it's always good to see it in black and white.

Thank you so much!! I have been trying to transfer to TX but they took my money for the evaluation and then suggested that I get the license from DE and then transfer over via reciprocity. Very overwhelming process owing to the long wait times on phone and lack of responsiveness overall.
