Is the date passed the CPA exam the date of the last exam taken? Seems like a dumb questions, but I do not want to do anything to slow down my application. Thanks!

Yes! The day you TOOK the exam is the day you PASSED the exam. Also, I just put the month? Like I put 12/2016.

EDIT: I'm in CA. The CBA website shows that the day my credit expires is based off the date I took the exam, not when I found out I passed it. So the day I “passed” my exam is when the day I took it.

I thought it was the day you get the passing score report? I only say that because the expiration date of the exams doesn't start until you get the actual score report.

Not sure about your state Nancy but in most states the day your pass expires is 18 months from the day you took the exam. Some states give you until the end of the sixth testing window after your first pass but I've never heard of one that starts the clock on the day of score release.

I have heard of a state or two like Nancy's, but can't remember the state.

@kiester I'd go with the date of the exam if I was having to guess, but probably the best guide would be to look at how credits expire and assume it will be treated similarly. So, if your state expires credits from the date you take it, I'd think that's what they consider to be the date you passed it; if they expire from the date you received the score, then I'd think they consider the score report date as your pass date. Perhaps someone else here is from MN and can confirm. 🙂

MN expires the last day of the month. On CPA Central there is a received date that corresponds to the score release date, so I'll go with that.

In Texas it begins with the date you received your score. Received my REG score on 12/16/2016 and expires 6/19/2018 according to TSBPA.
