Part-Time Qualifying Work Experience Question

I have noticed that some states will accept qualifying part-time work experience as long as it is or was for at least 20 hours a week. I know that the work experience for these states is converted into full-time (35-40 hours a week) no matter what, but how strict are they on the 20 hours a week requirement? What if you interned or worked part-time for 15 hours a week for a significant amount of time? Does it really make sense to ignore this experience just because it was short by 5 hours per week or would most people just convert the total hours into full-time weeks regardless?

Anyone? I can't believe that no one has never worked at an internship for any amount of time for less than 20 hours a week.

I think that decision is up to the state board. You need to contact them. I don't want to give you any incorrect information. So this may not be very helpful but it's about all that can be said. 🙁

California regulations say that part-time work counts @ 170 hours equal to one month. It does not say anything about a 20 hour per week minimum.
