To sum it up – I just sent the following to the GA Coordinator (cpaes-ga@nasba.org)

“On cue I received my REG Score Notice which I sat for on 11/8/10. The Score Notice dated 11/22/10, shows I passed REG and received credit. However, it is showing ‘No Credit’ for AUD.

I passed AUD on 7/3/2009 (Examination Section ID: xxxxxxx) and received a Uniform CPA Examination Score Notice dated 8/24/09. This Notice shows AUD expires 01/31/11.

I am very concerned about my current AUD credit status and the noted discrepancy.”

    What do you all think?!

If you sat for the exam on 7/3/2009, then it should expire on 1/3/2011. Good Luck.

I just looked at my BEC Score Notice which also showed my AUD credit expiration as 1/31/11. Again, the discrepancy is troubling.

    Anyone else had this happen?

Regardless of what happens, if I were you I'd reschedule FAR for 1/3/11 if possible.

Just got off the phone with NASBA. I told them the situation and included I was sitting in GA. The man on the phone sounded confused as his “computer clearly shows you're good man until 1/31/11, man”

However, NASBA's website states the following for GA under Exam Credit:

“You may take the required test sections individually and in any order, but are required to pass all four sections of the examination within a rolling 18 month period, which begins on the date the first examination section passed was taken.”

This seems to indicate my AUD credit would expire 18 from the day I sat for the exam, or 1/3/11. If correct, why would my Score Notice indicate AUD to expire on 1/31/11?

As it stands (this is so classic) I take FAR on 1/4/11 – 1 day AFTER my AUD expires (per NASBA GA website).

I agree I should move my test to 1/3/11, but for the CPA Exam world in general, how can there be such a blatant discrepancy?!

Well, as it turns out, there is no testing on 1/3/11. So your situation is even more confusing now. You should try and talk to someone with more authority to get a definitive answer.

ChiGirl – as indicated above, I've emailed the GA Coordinator. I'm sure her response will be slow. Beyond that, I don't know who to go to.

Jeff – Not only can you (sorta) predict score release dates, but also my ‘perfect storm' that has become Jan 3rd. I like the picture of Louisville's skyline included in many of your posts.

Wooaahh. That is crazy! My jurisdiction is in GA too and for each section that I've passed, it indicates that the score expires the last day of the 18th month (regardless of when I took the exam). Hmmm… I wonder if that really is just an error and the expiration really is 18 months from the exact date one sits for the exam. If that is the case, then that would explain why they say you lost credit, since we can't test in December and and no one can test on 1/3; and, if that is the case… that would really suck, and they should do something about it, since the score notices might be misleading.

Aud- Pass, BEC- Pass, FAR- Pass, REG- Pass.... Done!

I looked at my credit notices and its screwed up too. My AUD says expires 3/31/12 and my REG expires 6/30/12 SHOULD BE 3/1/12 and 6/7/12? I guess it doesntt matter in my case.cuz it falls between the testing windows… I never had credit before so I don't know what's the norm. Any one know?

I'm in Tennessee. After looking at my exam credits, it seems like the month in which I took the exam is just a gimme…and I have 18 months plus whatever days are left in the month I took the exam??? For example, I took my AUD section on 7/5/2010, and I don't lose that credit until 1/31/2012. The rest of my score credits are the same way – all expire 18 months later, on the last day of the month, with the count beginning the month AFTER my exam month.

All – The states set there own rules on when exam credit expires whether it is the exact day or the last day of the month of when the exam was taken. It appears that GA expires that last day of the month but I would get it in writing (email) from the GA State Board of Accountancy to verify which it is. Good Luck.

Just received this response from the CPAES Coordinator Team (cpaes-ga@nasba.org):

“The expiration date for Audit is January 31, 2011.”

Very interesting – I'm sure I'm not the first or the last to have to work my way through this score expiration mess. It's wild the policy per the NASBA GA site is incorrect.
