I was curious who’s taking the exam under a state board other than the state they live in because of not meeting the specific requirements of your home state to qualify to take the CPA exam. For those that are in this situation and plan to get an out-of-state license, do you plan on applying for a reciprocal license in your home state?
I moved to Texas a few years ago, but am taking the exam under Illinois because two of my college courses did not meet the specific Texas requirements (which seem like they could only be satisfied if I had gone to school in Texas). Once I finished with the exam, I plan on applying for my Illinois license then apply for a Texas reciprocal license. The two courses will not be an issue for Texas since I will meet the requirements for a license by reciprocity.
