I’ve spoke with the BOA, read their admin rules and instructions, and still have questions. Anyone else out there familiar with Oregon license, experience, and application process?
I have work experience at a large public firm but had 4 months of internship time (close to full time I believe), and then a 3 month break, then full time for 9 months. From my understanding this will qualify, but what’s odd to me is that the Board sends the work experience directly to your employers based on your application/work experience. I’m assuming this will be detailed for them so they know whether or not they are even aloud to fill out the form?
How does a firm/employer even know if they are eligible to sign off on work experience?
My current position, aka my permanent position at my current firm has a supervisor who has had 5 years experience as of April 2013, however we don’t believe he can sign off as a supervisor CPA until April 14 because he didn’t have 5 years “prior to serving as a supervisor licensee” according to the Oregon rules. So he has 5 years as a CPA, but he hasn’t supervised me for 12 months SINCE he’s been a technical “supervisor licensee.” Therefore we need to wait until April 2014 before he can fill out the forms the board sends him? Does that sound right? Do I need to wait even longer before he can sign off?
How is this process so convoluted? Anyways, thanks for any feedback. Hoping at least one or two of you from Oregon are in same boat as me, or know the answers.
