I’m a long time reader and new to the board. I can’t seem to find what courses are approved for the ethics test for the state of Ohio. Does anyone know if this Beacon Hill course that is titled “Ethics for Accountants: Ohio” meets the requirement? I would think so but don’t want to go through the hassle unless it really is. Thanks!

I just finished the paperwork and ethics test. Very specific on the course.

Go to https://www.ohioscpa.com/

1. Click on CPE on the header

2. Under “on demand” click on online catalog

3. Under “professional standards & ethics” click on Ohio accountancy law. It's the third one down or the one bottom one in that category.

The exam costs $99 and you can take it as many times as you need to.

I'm so lost about this, so those of us in Ohio do have to take this before we can get certified?

Is it hard as the other 4 parts of the CPA test?

The ethics test is a simple test that's nowhere near the complexity of any of the CPA sections. You pay for it $99, as noted above, and you can take it as many times as you need to.

Once you receive your final passing score. I recommned going to the following website and get the process started:

Once I received my last passing score for REG, I completed everything in one week and had everything sent in. I was told the hang up is the exam folks sending grades. Apparently it's not a priority for “them” once you pass. Oh yeah, I was also told it's a manual process where hard copy grades are sent.

Once complete and grades/transcripts are sent…apparently once a month (15th I think) all certificate requests are reviewed.
