After a long 4 months wait of applying for a license, I finally received my wall certificate and became licensed. Thanks for all of your support and infor provided via this forum.

Congrats, I haven't received my wall certificate yet but I received my letter from the state board yesterday with my license number and it stating that I am officially licensed and can call myself a CPA!

I still don't have my “official” letter, but I did get a call from the Director of the State Board. He said I was officially licensed and could call myself a CPA. He also said that the license number was a matter of public record, so, I'm putting it EVERYWHERE! He also said the wall certificates take a month or more to come in, because the calligraphy has to be done by hand.

Jade CPA-to-be, Mine did take 4 months. My application was submitted Q4 2012 in December, since it was during holiday season I was told the application was delayed for 2 weeks. Additionally, they spelled my name wrong on the license look up and pocket card causing them to resend again. On top of that, when they sent me my wall certifcate they also have my address wrong so they need to resend again. This is why it took so long, my case is rare 🙁 I hope it doesnt happen to others.

Usually I would say 9-12 weeks in CA

thanks for your response. if I can ask, did you get a letter from CBA after you passed all 4 parts? do you need to wait for this letter to submit your license application?

Wow, the least they can do is get the name right. All the pressure of registering, showing id's at the test site, with finger prints, signing in and out, showing your NTS……..How in the world can they get the name wrong. Just think if they gave your passing score to someone else because the name was wrong…….just interesting for the board to be so thorough….Glad you got your license and wall plaque…good riddens

If i remember correctly, yes I received a letter. However, do not wait for the letter because it took time. Soon the scores were posted as pass on my exam account. I immediately Fedex'ed all the necessary documents. Dont wait for the letter….!!!

I plan to take the ethics exam while i am waiting for my final score. Thus once my final score posted on CBA, i can immediately apply for the license. Beautiful!!!
