Hi everyone.
In late August, I’ll be eligible (at least I hope) to submit my paperwork for my CPA license in NJ. I wanted to run down the process so I don’t miss anything.
1) As of today, NASBA has recognized only 120 credits. My transcript from grad school to complete the 150 credits was sent out the week of 4th of July. Will I receive a confirmation email or letter from NASBA once they can confirm the 150 credits?
2) Before I submit my application, should I wait for confirmation from NASBA about my 150 credits?
I work in the private industry so my employer would need to fill out page 15 of this link:
https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/acc/Applications/CPA-Instructions-and-Application-for-Certification-by-Endorsement.pdfI believe I was told I need to get at least 25% under the Internal Audit Dept section.
I volunteered for VITA during this past tax so what section would they fill out? Private indstury, gov’t or IRS? (pgs. 15 and 16)
3) Based on prior posts, it seems it would take 6 to 8 weeks for my application to get processed by the state board. Then once it’s processed, I would have to pay a fee?
I know I have to take a four-hour ethics course within 6 months of licensure.
Am I missing anything else or should be aware of anything?
Thanks
